Top 5 gifts for the person who has it all!

Looking for the perfect gift for your loved one who has everything… or wants nothing??

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I know how difficult it can be to find that perfect gift. Especially if you aren’t trying to break the bank along the way.

I’ve got you covered! Although these are all gifts I have personally given to my husband, with some slight modifications, they can definitely work for any special someone in your life. Wife, girlfriend, best friend, life partner, parent… the options are endless!

Here are my top 5 gifts for the person who has it all:

  1. Travel Map

Lover of traveling? Shopping for your Travel Buddy? Know someone with wanderlust? This map is a great gift! To save some money, I kept it really simple with this one… I used a poster of a map of the world, an inexpensive frame from the craft store, some stickers, and push pins. Put it all together and voila!

Here’s where to find what I used:

Map, Frame, Push Pins, Stickers

We use this map as an “us” map. We place a push pin into all the places we have traveled together. My husband loves it! It also helps us plan the next place we want to go 😊 If domestic travel is more their thing, you could also simply use a map of the US.

Looking to make it a little more “fancy”? You could purchase one already done like THIS one from Etsy.

  1. Handmade Wall Decor

Personalization is KEY! I don’t care who it’s for, if you give them something personalized or handmade… they are really going to appreciate the thought and effort!

This one you really can make your own. Think of something your S.O. really enjoys and use that to your advantage. For me, I stuck with our love of travel. Wherever my husband and I travel, we always make sure bring home a magnet. To avoid our refrigerator getting cluttered, or risk breakage of any of our magnets… I made a magnetic board for our wall to hang all our magnets. To accompany the board, I made complimentary artwork to hang alongside.

For this, I hit up Michaels/Joann’s for some wood pieces, got some paint and stencils and got to work! It took a little time, but my husband definitely appreciated it. It hangs on the wall of our bedroom as a constant reminder of our wonderful memories together!

  1. Sound Wave

I came across this site ‘Artsy Voiceprint’ and completely fell in love, (check out their Etsy shop HERE) what a special idea!

They offer many different options and you can literally use anything. You can use a favorite song, famous speech, heartbeat, or in my case… vows.

Artsy was great to work with as well! I sent them a recording and they did the rest! I used this as our first wedding anniversary (paper 😉) so using our vows was super special. I chose our wedding colors and decided I would frame them myself to match our other décor. They do offer framing options and also different material such as wood or aluminum… a little bit of everything to fit all budgets.

  1. Zen Float experience (massage, facial, spa day)

Know someone who works a lot, is always stressed, and never “unplugs”? This is the gift for them!

Zen Float is literally a tank designed for relaxation. A float tank, aka sensory deprivation tank, is essentially a tub filled with water and Epsom salt (1,000 lbs at that). Due to the amount of salt, your body becomes less dense than the water, which causes you to float. This allows your body to enjoy complete relaxation. Most float tanks also have options to completely cut out light and sound based on preferences. Learn more about float tanks HERE.

My husband was quite skeptical at first, but when he came home… he quite literally was the most relaxed I have EVER seen him. Groupon and Living Social usually always have some great deals on this as well.

Other spa options such as massages, facials, mani/pedi, etc. would definitely fall under this category as well. Trust me, even your hubby will enjoy this!

Do a Google search for a Zen Float location near you!

  1. Framed photos

This one may seem obvious, but simply framing a special photo may be that perfect gift. Inexpensive and meaningful, it’s a win-win!

I decided to frame some wedding photos for my husbands’ desk at work- I also gave him some options on photos in case he didn’t like the ones I chose. I found a cute frame at HomeGoods and made my prints at Walgreens. Threw in some of his favorite candies and this gift was a hit!

Another option for this… frame something “special”. Did they obtain a degree or certification? Appear in the newspaper for something? Achieve an award of some kind? The thought you put into framing something so meaningful is sure to pull on a heartstring or two 😊

JoAnne Fabrics has an amazing framing department, check them out HERE

*Special Dinner or experience

A known thing in our family is that we would much rather spend money on experiences rather than “items”. If that sounds like your special someone… try to think of a special dinner or experience you could treat them to. Do they keep mentioning a place they want to try or have never been to? Now is your chance to take them!

My husband is a big reader and being from Florida he really likes the book “A Land Remembered” by Patrick Smith. On numerous occasions he had mentioned to me that there is a restaurant near us (Orlando, FL) themed around this book. So, for his birthday I decided to treat him to a special dinner at this restaurant. He was so surprised and happy; it was definitely a night to remember.

You could also utilize theme parks, museums, special picnics…. Anything you think they may enjoy or have been wanting to try.

*Personalized socks (or a shirt)

As I stated before… personalization is key!!

For our wedding day we decided not to do “big” gifts… so naturally I decided to purchase him socks with my (and our dogs) face on them! I mean just look at his face in that photo (frank photo), clearly, they were a success! And yes, he did wear them 😊

Socks not their thing? That’s ok! Shirts are fun too!
